Novaport can sign public-private coop deal for 3 Uzbek airports Nov
TASHKENT, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s airport holding Novaport can sign a public-private partnership agreement for three airports of Uzbekistan -- Samarkand, Namangan and Urgench -- in November, Anton Khodzhayan, department director of owner of the airports Uzbekistan Airways, told reporters on Thursday.
“They (Novaport) are preparing a draft concession agreement. The concession agreement can be signed in four months,” Khodzhayan said. He also said that Novaport can manage the airports for up to 40 years under concession.
Novaport can repair the terminal and landing stripe of the Samarkand airport by 2022, the year of a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organizaton, upgrade the landing facilities in Urgench and extend the passenger terminal in Namangan.
The company and Uzbekistan signed an investment agreement for the three airports in May.
